Peitz Cancer Support House is proud to welcome a new Registered Yoga Teacher to the weekly Yoga for Cancer Survivors class. Hillary Brandon, RYTandreg; 200, leads the class, which is gentle exercise focused on deeper breathing and relaxation techniques along with gentle stretching.

Regular exercise can help to ease some side effects of cancer treatments. Exercise improves the ability to complete normal activities of daily living, lowers the risk of anxiety or depression, and improves quality of life. Exercise is also beneficial in reducing cancer recurrence. As with any new exercise program, please consult your physician prior to beginning the class.

Yoga for Cancer Survivors is a free class open to all men and women that have ever been diagnosed with cancer. The class meets on Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. in the Peitz Cancer Support House Activity Room. For more information or to register for the class, call the Peitz Cancer Support House at (870) 508-CARE (2273) or email Melissa Hudson, PCSH Coordinator, at mhudson@baxterregional.org.
