According to the American Heart Association, Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple a victim's chance of survival in an emergency. Hands-Only CPR helps keep the vital organs alive until EMS arrives. Please contact rsmoore@baxterregional.org to schedule your group to learn the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR.
Massive bleeding from any cause, but particularly from an active shooter or explosive event where a response is delayed can result in death. Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the public must learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes. However, anyone at the scene can act as an immediate responder and save lives if they know what to do. In this class, you will learn what to do until help arrives. Please contact astrain@baxterregional.org to schedule your group's class.
Baxter Health offers free guest speakers to local community groups and area schools on a wide range of health topics including Cancer, Diabetes, Aging, and Women's Health. We also offer guided tours to the community through our volunteer program. If you would like more information on guest speakers, please contact webmaster@baxterregional.org or call (870) 508-1000.
