$700,000 Donated to Kick Off Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation’s $1.7M Capital Campaign

$700,000 Donated to Kick Off Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation’s $1.7M Capital Campaign

Baxter Regional’s plans for the 5 South Surgical Services remodel begins with a $700,000 donation.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation announced the public phase of its capital campaign to remodel the existing Surgical Services Unit located on 5 South of the main hospital tower. To date, the Hospital Foundation has raised $963,500, over 56% of its $1,700,000 goal, thanks to a generous gift of $700,000 from the Baxter Regional Auxiliary

The remodel, led by Cromwell Architects Engineers, Inc. consists of 6 new and 26 renovated patient rooms for a total of 32 patient rooms, all equipped with the latest technologies to enhance patient care. The renovations will also include an expanded waiting room with an open-air feel as well as a remodeled nurses’ station. In 2020, Baxter Regional Medical Center saw an opportunity to enhance the surgical patient experience in their constant pursuit of providing excellent care to every patient, every time. That’s when the idea for the 5 South Surgical Services renovation was put into motion.

“[The renovation] will allow all of our surgical patients to come to a floor where they’re going to get the best possible surgical care,” said John Neis, MD, an Ear, Nose and Throat Physician practicing in Mountain Home, Arkansas. “Having a state-of-the-art facility will allow us to recruit [the best physicians] nationwide and continue to provide the superb level of care that we already do.”

“This is a privileged opportunity for us to participate in an endeavor that will optimize wellness and patient experience for the foreseeable future,” said Jim Whalen, president of the Baxter Regional Auxiliary. “Speaking for all of the members of the auxiliary, we are both proud and humbled to have a role in this very epic journey.”

Baxter Regional Hospital Foundation is committed to raising another $736,500 through a variety of gifts and naming opportunities. These gifts are tax-deductible and may be pledged over 5 years.
