Jamie Lee Aldakkour, DO, is a fellowship-trained medical oncologist and hematologist who joined Highlands Oncology on the Baxter Health campus in mid-August. She sees patients in the clinic and also cares for oncology patients admitted to the hospital, providing continuity of care whether you're coming in for a scheduled visit or need support during a hospital stay.

Dr. Aldakkour treats the full range of conditions within hematology and oncology, the specialty focused on cancers and diseases of the blood. That includes leukemia, lymphoma, anemia, and clotting disorders, as well as solid tumor cancers. Her training has prepared her to guide patients through every stage of care, from diagnosis through treatment and ongoing follow-up.

Dr. Aldakkour brings a research-driven approach to her clinical work. She has contributed to published studies in the Journal of Clinical Oncology on cancer care quality improvement and kidney cancer treatment outcomes, and she remained active in medical research throughout her training. For patients, that means a physician who stays current with the latest evidence and brings that knowledge directly into their treatment plans.

She completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at LSU Health Shreveport and holds board certification in both hematology and internal medicine. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and completed her internal medicine residency at HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, where she served as chief resident. She completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry and Spanish at the University of Houston, graduating magna cum laude.

Dr. Aldakkour practices at Highlands Oncology at Baxter Health, the region's premier cancer center.
