About Ernesto

Dr. Ernesto Ruiz-Rodriguez is a triple board-certified physician specializing in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. His clinical expertise includes complex percutaneous coronary interventions (radial and femoral approaches), peripheral endovascular interventions, and advanced structural heart therapies, with a focus on transcatheter valve interventions.

Prior to his medical training, Dr. Ruiz-Rodriguez served in the United States Army and completed US Army Airborne School. The discipline, teamwork, and risk management skills he developed in the military continue to shape his approach to complex cardiovascular care.

He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic and a Cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. He then pursued training in Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Endovascular Interventions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Finally, he completed an advanced fellowship in Structural Heart Disease and Advanced Interventional Cardiology at the University of Minnesota.
