About Blake

Trained in internal medicine, Dr. Copeland has spent his career in some of healthcare's most demanding settings, from hospitalist and intensive care medicine to primary care, hospice, and medical leadership. That range gave him a firsthand understanding of how pain, dependency, and quality of life intersect, especially for patients managing complex, long-term conditions. It's an understanding that now shapes his work at the Pain Clinic every day.

For more than a decade, Dr. Copeland has focused on addiction medicine, working closely with patients navigating the crossroads of substance use and chronic illness. He understands that chronic pain and substance use often go hand in hand, and that patients deserve care that treats both, together, without having to see separate providers or travel outside their community. Among the treatments he offers is Sublocade, a once-monthly buprenorphine injection for opioid use disorder that is not widely available in the region, giving north central Arkansas families a meaningful new option close to home.

Dr. Copeland earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, where he also completed his internal medicine residency. He went on to serve as Chief Medical Officer of Arkansas Continued Care Hospital, direct the ICU and CCU at Baptist-Paragould, and found Pioneer Medical Clinics, his own primary care practice in Arkansas. He has served as medical director for multiple long-term care, home health, and hospice organizations, and has taught as adjunct faculty at three academic institutions, including UAMS and St. Bernards.

Dr. Copeland joins a team of dedicated Pain Clinic providers, including Ryan Krafft, DO; Niger Stice, PA-C; Candi Caldwell, APRN; Alison Duggins, APRN; Kala Hatch, APRN; and Derek McMurry, APRN.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Copeland enjoys time with his family, being outdoors, and spending time on the lake fishing.
