Baxter Health Welcomes Mikalee "Brooke" Hinrichs, APRN, to the Comprehensive Women’s Clinic
Baxter Health is pleased to welcome Mikalee “Brooke” Hinrichs, APRN, to the Baxter Health Comprehensive Women’s Clinic.
Hinrichs joins Dr. Maureen Flowers and is now accepting new patients. Brooke Hinrichs is not new to Baxter Health, and she is not new to this community. She has spent the better part of her nursing career right here in Mountain Home, building a foundation of patient care and clinical experience that has always been rooted in this place.
Coming to the Comprehensive Women’s Clinic as an APRN is the next chapter in a story that has been unfolding in these halls for years. Hinrichs began her nursing career as a licensed practical nurse before earning her registered nursing degree, both from Arkansas State University Mountain Home. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and, most recently, her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University.
That path, built one step at a time right here in north central Arkansas, reflects the kind of steady, purposeful commitment that women’s health patients deserve in a provider. Her clinical background includes years of experience as a registered nurse at Baxter Health’s own Comprehensive Women’s Clinic, where she cared for patients through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and all aspects of women’s health. That means she already knows these patients, understands what they need, and is stepping into her new role as a nurse practitioner with a depth of relationship and institutional knowledge that is genuinely rare.
Hinrichs’ primary focus is preventive and routine women’s health care, including wellness exams, contraception counseling and management, menstrual health, menopause management, and gynecologic conditions. She also supports Dr. Flowers’ obstetric patients when Dr. Flowers is unavailable, ensuring continuity of care for those patients.
Six years of caring for women in this clinic gave Hinrichs a clear view of something she could not ignore: the gaps in resources available to women in this region. Working alongside Dr. Flowers deepened that awareness and showed her what was possible if she took the next step. Pursuing her nurse practitioner degree was her answer to that calling, and she is here now to do something about it.
Born in Oklahoma, Hinrichs has made Mountain Home home. She and her husband have been married for 11 years and are the proud parents of two children. When she is not at the clinic, she loves hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake with family and friends.
“Brooke has been part of this team, part of this clinic, and part of this community for years,” Brian Barnett, Vice President of Physician Enterprise and Business Development at Baxter Health, said. “Watching her grow from nurse to nurse practitioner and step into this role is something we are genuinely proud of. Our patients already know her, and that trust is something you cannot put a price on.” Brooke Hinrichs, APRN, is now accepting new patients at the Baxter Health Comprehensive Women’s Clinic.
