Cancer Patient Assistance in Baxter County

The Peitz Cancer Support House provides a comprehensive support services program from first diagnosis throughout treatment and beyond in a home-like environment for cancer patients and their families. This is the area’s first line of support for cancer patients, and their families and friends. We are here to encourage you, from diagnosis through treatment.

Services and tools include:

• Support sessions
• One on one sessions
• Cancer information binders
• Care packages
• Head coverings for cancer patients
• Mastectomy/lumpectomy supplies
• Educational seminars
• Exercise programs

Hours of Services & Contact Info

The Peitz Cancer Support House is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A staff member or volunteer will be available weekdays during regular business hours to answer questions about events and activities.

Meet the Coordinator

Melissa Hudson brings many years of healthcare experience and a deep passion for serving others to her role as Coordinator of the PCSH. She feels truly blessed to serve in this position and is honored to provide encouragement, support, and education to cancer patients and their families.

Having both lost loved ones to cancer and celebrated with others who have survived, Melissa understands firsthand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. She believes there is always hope and that there are meaningful moments to celebrate throughout the journey.

Melissa moved to the Twin Lakes Area in 2004 and lives in Mountain Home with her husband, Christian, and their son, Tristan. She treasures time with her family and takes great pride in being a mom. In her free time, she enjoys canoeing, scenic country drives, hiking, participating in church activities, and attending Bible studies.
