About Adam
Dr. Smitherman is a board-certified, fellowship trained neurosurgeon.
He attended undergraduate at the University of Georgia in Athens where he majored in genetics. He went on to complete his Medical Degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He then went on to complete a Neurosurgery Spine Fellowship at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Smitherman’s areas of interest include open and minimally invasive spine surgery, adult spinal deformity, and spinal oncology. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, fly fishing, cooking, and brewing the perfect cup of coffee.
