At Baxter Health we want to make it easier for you to achieve your dream career in the healthcare field. Please check the list of available scholarships and criteria to see which one is right for you. Simply click on the scholarship that works best for you and it will bring you to the scholarship applications.

Please note that only one scholarship will be awarded per applicant. All scholarships, unless otherwise noted, require a work commitment of 60 hours per pay period (two weeks); six months for every $5,000 in scholarship monies received, or it must be repaid. In order to maintain your scholarship, students are required to submit a renewal form each term with their current transcripts with a GPA of 2.50 or higher.

Arthur F. Baker and Bonny B. Baker Nursing Education Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must demonstrate permanent residency in the Baxter Health service area, including the Arkansas counties of Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone and Searcy, and Ozark County in Missouri.
Employment at Baxter Health is not required.
Financial assistance needed. Preference is given to single parents.
Education must be for LPN, RN or BSN.

Scholarship Amount

Maximum available per semester is $1,000.
Assistance from all other scholarships and aid must be used first, except for Pell Grants.
Covered: Tuition, books and fees for required classes of the program.
Not Covered: College preparatory classes in math, composition and reading.
There is no Work Commitment required for this scholarship.

Baxter Health Employee Education Assistance (Non-Nursing)

Eligibility Criteria

Full time Baxter Health employee (80 hours/pay period) for at least one year, or a part time employee (minimum 60 hours/pay period) for at least two years.
Must have and maintain a positive work record with Baxter Health.
Must maintain a minimum of 32 hours/pay period while attending college.
Financial assistance needed.

Scholarship Amount

Maximum available per semester is $2,000 per term or up to $6,000 per year.
Covered: Tuition and books for required classes of the program.

Baxter Health Employee RN to BSN/MSN Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Full time Baxter Health employee (80 hours/pay period) for at least one year, or a part time employee (minimum 60 hours/pay period) for at least two years.
Must have and maintain a positive work record with Baxter Health.
Must maintain a minimum of 32 hours/pay period while attending college.
Education must be for BSN, MSN or Doctorate.

Scholarship Amount

Maximum available per semester is $2,000 for undergraduate programs and $2,500 for graduate programs.
Maximum available for online courses is up to $6,000 per year for undergraduate and up to $7,500 per year for graduate programs.
Summer is ONE semester.
Covered: Tuition and books for required classes of the program.
Not covered: infrastructure fees, Arkansas assessment fees, non-credit courses and college preparatory classes in math, composition, and reading.

Caroline Austino Medical Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must demonstrate permanent residency in the Baxter Health service area, including the Arkansas counties of Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone and Searcy, and Ozark County in Missouri.
Financial assistance needed.
Education must be for a medical profession.
Must have and maintain a positive work record with Baxter Health.

Scholarship Amount

Maximum available per semester is $5,000 or up to $10,000 per year.
Employment at Baxter Health is not required while pursuing degree.
Covered: Tuition and books for required classes of the program.
Not Covered: College preparatory classes in math, composition and reading.

JoAnne Cushing Nursing Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must possess a good work ethic.
Legal Resident of Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Searcy, Izard, Stone, or Sharp counties in Arkansas.
Applicant must not use tobacco.
Financial assistance needed.
Education must be working towards a nursing degree.

Scholarship Amount

Scholarship amount determined by Scholarship Committee.
Employment at Baxter Health is not required while pursuing degree.
Covered: Tuition and books for required classes of the program.
Not Covered: College preparatory classes in math, composition and reading.

Robert L. Kerr Medical Student Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited medical program leading to a degree of Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy or an accredited U.S. dental school leading to a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine.
Applicant must demonstrate permanent residency in the Baxter Health service area, including the Arkansas counties of Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone, Searcy, Boone, and Newton, as well as Ozark and Howell County in Missouri.
Proof of enrollment in an accredited medical program leading to a degree of medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy.
Two letters of reference from persons who are not related to you.

Scholarship Amount/Coverage

Maximum available up to $10,000 per year.
Covered: Tuition, fees, and books for required classes of the program.

Ruth Elizabeth Anderson and Mary Jane Downes Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must demonstrate permanent residency in the Baxter Health service area, including the Arkansas counties of Baxter, Marion, Fulton, Izard, Sharp, Stone and Searcy, and Ozark County in Missouri.
Financial assistance needed.
Education must be for LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, EMT, or Paramedic program.

Scholarship Amount

Maximum available per semester is $4,000 or up to $8,000 per year.
Employment at Baxter Health is not required while pursuing degree.
Covered: Tuition, fees, and books for required classes of the program.
Not Covered: College preparatory classes in math, composition and reading.
